There is no other place like this in Warsaw. It`s not a typical hotel, but more an institution created with passions for art and music enthusiasts. Chopin Boutique B&B is located in a prewar house from 1910 designed by Edward Weber in Berlin Modernist style. On its facade you can see bullet holes from the Warsaw Uprising in 1944.
In the interwar time it was a residential house for the intelectual elite: lawyers, doctors, businesmen and politians. The most famous former resident was Stanisław Wojciechowski, the President of Poland in 1922-1926. The Chopin Boutique can also pride itself on having hosted many exeptional guests, including film makers who were awarded or nominated to the Oscars: Andrzej Wajda, Volker Schlöndorff, Paweł Pawlikowski and Agnieszka Holland.
Chopin Boutique is operated by a group of friends from the Smolna Association which is involed in many local and social activities. Every year they organize a music festival – the Frederick Chopin Birthday Celebration. The hotel belongs to the Heritage Hotels Poland program which focuses on unique, enviromentaly friendly hotels with historical significance. It`s a place for those who are searching for more than just a place to sleep. Every room is uniquely decorated in a warm classic style using authentic furniture pieces. The hotel owns the largest collection of furniture desgined by Jindrich Halabala from Brno. There are also bikes to rent for those who like city tours. Warsaw has become a very bike friendly city
Another pride of hotel is the Chopin Salon managed by Anna Hajduk who is a graduate of the Frederick Chopin University School of Music and winner of many prestigous piano competitions. The Salon hosts piano concerts of Chopin`s music every evening at 7:30 pm. The event is open to both to our guests and the public. All are welcome. It`s the only place in Warsaw where you can listen to such music in an intimate salon atmosphere reminicent of Warsaw’s prewar days. The visiting pianists performing here come from all over the world. Anna Hajduk is also responsible for Dom Muzyki (House of Music) opened in 2016 and located at Nowy Świat 63. It operates daily as a spacious cafe in prewar style featuring daily concerts at 5:00 pm.
Chopin Boutique also is the home of Philoxenia Restaurant. The homeric hospitability lies at the heart of its activity. Meaning that guests are expected because they provide the inspiration for the owner. All food products are organic and sourced from local farmers mostly. The hotel grows it’s own green onions on the roof garden along with maintaining its own bee colony providing honey. Jams and confiture are also made here. And my personal favorite: the coffee, roasted on site in the hotel and always served within 14 days. You won`t get such an espresso anywhere else in town.
