Marcello was recommended to me as one of the best pizza places in town. After just one visit I must admit it`s really incredible. The place is quite fashionable, but relaxed. It`s located in more hip and less touristy part of the city center. In summer time you can sit outside with view at the monumental Constitution Square which is one of the best examples of a Socialist-realism style housing estate in Warsaw. Marcello is surprisingly big and spacious inside and it`s a very designer kind of place: modern, chic, cozy and…pink.
I`ve been here only once and I tried their “Vegetariana” which was simply delicious (with mushroom, artichoke, baked paprika, onion, mozarella and grana padano cheese). It was very wet and juicy which I actually love, but I know some people prefer more stiff crust. Next time I may try “Pepperoni” (I heard it`s great). For vegans Marcello has “Vegana” pizza on the menu.
In Marcello you will find a small but interesting and fair priced selection of wines. For a glass of “home” white wine (Beau de France Syrah) I paid 10 PLN so more less EUR 2. For half a liter caraf you will pay 28 PLN (EUR 6), and for a liter – 48 PLN (EUR 10,5). Bottled wine prices vary betwen 55 to 139 PLN (EUR 12 – 30). Anyway, the most important is pizza. Give it a try!
