Marcello: Delicious Neapolitan-Style Pizza

Marcello was recommended to me as one of the best pizza places in town. After just one visit I must admit it`s really incredible. The place is fashionable, but relaxed. It`s located in a popular among locals and less touristy part of the city center. In summertime you can sit outside with a view of the monumental Constitution Square which is one of the best examples of Socialist-realism style housing estate in Warsaw. Marcello is surprisingly spacious inside and it`s a very designer kind of place: modern, chic, cozy and…pink.

I`ve been here only once and I tried their “Vegetariana” which was simply delicious (with mushroom, artichoke, baked paprika, onion, mozarella and grana padano cheese). It was very wet and juicy which I actually love, but I know some people prefer more stiff crust. Next time I may try “Pepperoni” (I heard it`s great). For vegans Marcello has “Vegana” pizza on the menu.

In Marcello you will find a small but interesting and fair priced selection of wines. For a glass of “home” white wine (Beau de France Syrah) I paid 10 PLN so more less EUR 2. For half a liter caraf you will pay 28 PLN (EUR 6), and for a liter – 48 PLN (EUR 10,5). Bottled wine prices vary betwen 55 to 139 PLN (EUR 12 – 30). Anyway, the most important is pizza. Give it a try!
