National Museum in Warsaw

The National Museum in Warsaw was founded in 1862 as the Museum of Fine Arts and is one of the oldest museums in Poland. The modernist building where it`s located currently was built between 1927-1938 and it`s one of the most important buildings of that time in Warsaw (Tadeusz Tołwiński`s project). The museum boasts a collection of about 830,000 works of art from Poland and abroad, from ancient times to the present including paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, photographs, coins, as well as utilitarian objects and design. Check out its newly redesigned exhibitions: Gallery of Medieval Art and Faras Gallery. If you prefer modern art check out its Gallery of 20th and 21st Century Art. The museum always has something new interesting to offer on its  temporary exhibitions.
