The Royal Sculpture Gallery in Łazienki Park

The Royal Sculpture Gallery in the Old Orangery is one of three main galleries in the Royal Łazienki Park, arranged according to the Royal inventory from 1795. The collection mostly includes 18th century works of Italian and French artists focused on Antiquity, in line with the trend of decorating European palaces with copies of ancient statues.

The building itself is a beautiful example of Polish Neo-Classical architecture. It was designed by the royal architect Domenico Merlini. It also houses one of the most precious interiors in Poland, an authentic royal theater from the 18th century. There are just a few such places in Europe. You can see the theater from the scultpure gallery, by entering the theater`s balcony.
